R&B singer, songwriter Donnell Dantzler opened the 2013 new year with a 2-1/2 hour show at Clementine's Restaurant in San Ramon, CA on friday night, January 4th.  Playing to an endearing crowd at Clementine's Jazz Cafe' restaurant, Dantzler blazed through a set of songs that captured the attention of many and garnered participation from guests who got into the groove of his signature original songs and familiar cover songs like, "Sumthin' Sumthin' by Maxwell.  Penning his original tracks including "Life Is Good", "Show Me Love" and "Have You Ever", Dantzler put his voice and guitar to work to provide an entertaining evening of music for invited and stop-in guests alike.  Dantzler opened the show with a new jazz/funk instrumental track which featured him on guitar and lured listeners into a smooth groove with the heavy kick drum back drop and snapping snare that made the guitar licks shine and may have even reminded some of superb jazz guitarists Norman Brown or George Benson.  The singer, songwriter then took the audience up a notch performing "For The Night" by Musiq and working into his original songs, "Have You Ever", "What's It Gonna Be" and "You Got My Love".  By then the audience had settled in and Dantzler lured some in the audience to participate with their owns vocals with songs like Prince's Purple Rain or Raspberry Bere't and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On".  He then resumed his original track list where "Life Is Good", "You Got My Love" and "Can We Meet Again" hi-lighted the set and "Out The Door" rounded out set with then finishing with an encore performance of acoustic renditions of his original songs "Believe It Or Not" and "If You Don't Mind".  By the end of the show, it was clear that the audience had enjoyed a splendid early 2013 music experience and had learned of another one of the Bay Area's many music talents in the region.  Keep an ear out for a show near you!  Next up is an "All About Love" concert show in Kansas City February 16th.  "Save The Date"!
